Revitalizing the Via Papalis

Rome, Italy

University of Arkansas Rome Center

Spring 2012

The semester long program in Rome focused heavily on the study and analysis of the many layers of the history of the city. This project was centered around the Via Papalis, the processional route historically taken by each new Pope through the city of Rome.  The semester was split into three phases: Inventory, Analysis, and Schematic Design.  My studio focused on the quarter of the Via Papalis surrounding the Roman Forum and the Colosseum.  The Inventory and Analysis phases of the project were completed as a collaborative effort of small groups.
